Alimony after parenting plan: Your rights
Questioner
Good morning, My ex-partner and I have been separated since 2013. At that time, we established a parenting plan for a period of 6 years for our 2 daughters. (now 9 and 12 years old). The end date of this plan was 01-03-2019. Now he no longer wants to pay me alimony and wants to put it in a separate account for the children. Is this allowed and is it the case that since the parenting plan has “expired” he does not have to pay for it?Lawyer
No, your ex must pay the alimony to you into a bank account that you specify. If your ex no longer pays alimony, it can be claimed at his expense and I can collect it for you. If a date has been agreed upon in the parenting plan for evaluation or to make further arrangements, then that is of course possible, but that does not mean that your ex can unilaterally determine how things will proceed. The alimony is intended as a contribution to the costs you have for raising and caring for the children. Do you have any questions? Please feel free to ask.Take the next step
