Questioner

Good morning, After paying for a trip, it turns out that the travel organization is bankrupt 6 weeks before the start. I receive an email that a suspension of payments has been requested. Checked the SGR rules; payment in the event of bankruptcy. In order to be able to book an affordable holiday to London shortly before Christmas, I booked a new trip. I immediately filed a claim with SGR. SGR indicated 3 weeks later that it could still carry out the existing trip with another organization. In the meantime, I have booked elsewhere. SGR does not want to pay for the first trip. What now?

Lawyer

If the trip can still be completed with another organization, SGR may adhere to this. This must be explicitly stated in their terms and conditions. If you booked the trip yourself without consulting, you can be charged for this and SGR is not obliged to pay for the first trip. I advise you to consult the terms and conditions before taking further legal steps. If you cannot (yet) reach an agreement, I will look into your case.
