Returning from maternity leave: what are your rights?

I currently work full time, but after my maternity leave I would like to come back for 4 days a week. Can my boss refuse this?

In principle, the employer must agree. This will only change if compelling business interests oppose this. The employer will then have to demonstrate this. This is a major hurdle. You must apply for the reduction in hours in a timely manner.
