Changing marital status after divorce abroad

Hi everyone. my question is the following: I recently moved back to the Netherlands. I went to register at the municipality and it turns out that I am still married to my ex where I got divorced in Suriname. We got divorced in Suriname and then also went to the Dutch embassy in Suriname to confirm our divorce. My ex-wife did get a stamp that she was divorced. but I come here and according to the register I'm still married. what can i do to change this since my ex lives in Suriname and i live here? with kind regards Carlos Rafael ErasoLawyer
