Help with blocked bank account
Questioner
I am on holiday and can no longer access my account or that of my children, do not pay anything and cannot withdraw any money. I call the bank and they tell me this on a phone call from the police that I have apparently been scammed? hUH?? I have been away from the Netherlands for weeks, I think that is clever. I call the police and they say come to the office, so I say I am in Australia, how should I do that?? Well then come when you are back? Yes, that is all well said, but how do I get back if I cannot access my money? Is something like that allowed?Lawyer
Banks can often block accounts if they suspect fraud or deception. You should read the terms and conditions of your bank. These can often be found online. If you have not been guilty of such practices, I strongly advise you to defend yourself against them. This is because in the case of fraud, you end up in a certain system that is maintained by banks and it may then be that you will not be able to use any bank account for a number of years. Your own account is then often closed and opening a new account with another bank is often very difficult or impossible.Take the next step
