Help with neighbour conflicts and ivy disputes
Questioner
I am having a lot of trouble with my back neighbor's ivy, he has a fence and my fence is 19 centimeters from it Daan, the ivy grows in between and also grows a lot in my shed, I have called in the neighborhood mediation but the gentleman thinks that is nonsense, I have to unscrew my boards from the shed twice a year to remove it, that is a lot of work, this is the fourth year that I have asked for something to be done about this, his response is: just remove it, I can't reach it anymore, but I also can't reach to remove everything between the fence and besides, I am 68 years old, what else can I do now, I don't live there comfortably anymore. Regards, RikaLawyer
The neighbour behind must ensure that any overgrowth over the fence is removed by him after you have given him written notice. If he does not want this, you can have it removed at his expense if you are unable to do so. However, the costs must be reasonable. If the dispute escalates, please contact me immediately for consultation.Take the next step
