A year and a half ago I sold my house. A structural survey was then carried out at the buyers' request to identify all defects. They approved that report. But now they claim that several window frames are rotten and want me to contribute to the costs. I don't believe I'm liable. Am I right?

Rotten window frames are a significant risk of water damage and damp, especially in older houses with single glazing. Have you noticed anything? These kinds of things are often expected, regardless of the building report, especially for older houses. They are certainly not hidden defects within the legal definition, as they don't hinder normal occupancy. Therefore, I wouldn't immediately agree to sharing the costs.
