Your rights with the VvE and disposal costs
Questioner
I own an apartment, and the homeowners' association (VvE) has decided to replace the sewer/drainage system. However, I'm not sure which part of the system belongs to the VvE (the downpipe?) and whether the drain running from my toilet/kitchen and bathroom to the downpipe is my responsibility. My question is: where does the section of the drain that I'm responsible for/pay for begin and end? Or does the entire drain fall under the responsibility (and therefore the costs) of the VvE?Questioner
No, you are right, vertical piping is part of VvE maintenance.Questioner
The riser is, in any case, considered common property, and the cost of replacing it is therefore the joint owners' responsibility. Older (model) division regulations (1973 and 1982) stipulated that pipes located in private sections are also common. The more recent division regulations stipulate that these pipes belong to private sections. The cost of replacing these pipes is then the responsibility of the individual owners of those private sections.Take the next step
