Help with tax advisor complaints

Questioner

Since 2010, the same tax advisor has been preparing my annual tax returns. I authorize her every year. I recently discovered by chance that I can also deduct travel expenses from my healthcare expenses. She never told me this, even though she knew I travel frequently for medical appointments every year. Over the past five years, I've missed out on approximately €1,100 to €1,200 per year in deductible expenses. The tax authorities told me that the previous years can no longer be adjusted. So, I only sent the figures for the past five years to the advisor with a request to resubmit. Although we've always had a good professional relationship in the past, during which I never had to wait too long for a response, I'm now being ignored and no longer receiving any response, not in writing, not by phone. Since I only have a very small pension and essentially have to tighten my belt every month, every euro is important to me. What now? How do I get her to cooperate in reopening the tax returns she filed, which haven't yet expired? Thanks in advance! AR

If you've already formally written to her to reopen the tax returns and she hasn't responded, you can file a complaint with the organization she's affiliated with. They may be able to take further action. Furthermore, urging her to file the returns will become a civil matter. You will therefore have to summon her.
