Legal assistance with employment law issues

My son and daughter both work at the same reputable supermarket. One is a shelf stacker, the other a cashier. Both have been told several times by managers that if they don't perform as expected, they'll be penalized by an extra half hour of unpaid work or have half an hour of their salary taken away. My daughter is already 19. Is that allowed?Questioner
No, that's not allowed. An employer may not discipline an employee in such a way. If your children were to perform poorly, they could potentially be held accountable, and the employer could then initiate an improvement program.Questioner
I completely agree with Boogaard. This pre-war practice is unacceptable. If one of your children is punished in this way, they should immediately contact a specialized employment law attorney, such as myself. The first consultation is often free.Take the next step
