Can I, as a company, unilaterally change the payment method of a subscription? Option 1: The subscription states that an invoice will be sent once a year and that this must be paid before the subscription year begins. Option 2: There is no payment method stated in the contract. In both cases, I would like to switch to direct debit to reduce the administrative burden and reduce the outstanding accounts receivable.

You'll need to agree on this with your existing clients. You can't implement it unilaterally. For new clients, it could be your only offer (without a choice).
