Alimony and special expenses: your rights
Questioner
Good afternoon, I've been paying child support and spousal support for years. Now my daughter, who lives with my ex most of the time, would like to go to school camp. The amount for this, including pocket money, is worth two months' worth of child support, but my ex doesn't want to use this money for it. As a result, my daughter can't go to camp. Can I use the two months' child support to pay for school camp directly to the school and not to my ex?Questioner
No, that's not allowed because this school camp is a special expense for which you must contribute extra. (I assume this isn't a regular school trip.)Take the next step
