Caravan Sales Problems Solving
Questioner
Hello. We would like to sell our caravan with a pitch. In December 2018, I received permission from the property manager to sell. We waited another year and decided to sell the caravan after all. I reported this to the manager and received no response. I decided to sell it anyway, and when the caravan sold for €12,500, the manager did respond. I didn't have permission. So the sale fell through. In hindsight, my permission from December 2018 was valid for a year, and I was overdue for that by a month. It's difficult to discuss anything with the manager; he's a very unpleasant man with a very short fuse. He mainly threatened to evict the caravan because of my behavior. I simply admitted that I didn't know the permission was no longer valid. Out of ignorance, I acted the way I did. Now, after much threatening and nagging, I've received permission to sell. I'm allowed to sell the caravan for a maximum of €8,000.00, and I have to inform the new owners that the caravan (17 years old) must be vacated in five years. I know he's using these rules to obstruct the sale. Can the manager instruct me to inform the new buyers that the caravan will have to be vacated in five years? The price he's demanding for the sale is also incredibly low. It's a difference of €4,500.00. Is that normal? And there's a lot to say about his behavior. He's beating around the bush. He constantly threatens to evict me. It's impossible to have a normal conversation with this man. I can't defend myself because I'd threaten to stop everything and be kicked off the campsite.Questioner
I don't quite understand why the campsite owner thinks his permission is only valid for one year. He does indeed have to give you permission to sell, and he can also impose conditions, as you indicate in your question, but once permission is given for sale, it's not possible to attach a time limit to its validity. I believe you simply have permission to sell, and you also indicated it again after a year.Take the next step
