Changing your child's surname: How to do it

Good morning. Last week, my now-ex-boyfriend and I acknowledged our unborn baby. We chose to give the baby his last name. We did this in the morning, and in the afternoon, he indicated he didn't want to continue the relationship. This was completely unexpected for me. Can I still change the surname to my own, and if so, how exactly do I do this?

That's not easy, because the reason you'll have to justify is error based on the fact that the person acknowledging parentage is not the biological father. You, or the child, will have to request a surname change on behalf of the child. The father cannot do this if he is the biological father. The child can also request it themselves once they are of legal age.
