Wheel Clamp on Public Roads: What Is Allowed?

Is it legal to use a wheel clamp on my own car on public roads? To prevent/deter theft, I'm considering purchasing a wheel clamp that I intend to use daily. Since I can't park my car on private property, but I can park in public parking spaces in front of my house, I'm not sure if this is permitted.

In principle, this is permitted provided it doesn't cause any inconvenience to other parkers or other parties involved, or provided it's permitted by your municipality's General Bylaw. Emergency services may need quick access in the event of an emergency. A wheel clamp will delay this.
