Legal Questions About Product Warranty
Questioner
Hello, In December 2017, I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator from the store. Now it broke down a few weeks ago (it no longer cools). Since it only has a 2-year warranty, it wasn't free to have a mechanic look at it unless I took out 6 months' insurance. No sooner said than done, unfortunately the refrigerator can no longer be repaired. Now, since the refrigerator is only *almost* 3 years old, my question is: What are my rights? A refrigerator should really last longer than 3 years.Questioner
You shouldn't have expected that; a refrigerator has a longer average lifespan. What's the cause of the problem? If it's poor or lack of maintenance, the seller might blame you. If not, you could apply a price reduction to the purchase of your next refrigerator. In that case, you'll have to partially cancel the purchase.Take the next step
