Rent increase: What are your rights as a tenant?
Questioner
My landlord hasn't raised my rent in ten years. Now, starting July 1st, he wants to apply all the increases from the past ten years, raising the rent from €750 to €1150. Is that allowed? TenantQuestioner
That's not the intention, at least I assume your lease agreement, which is or was private sector, stipulates a rent increase. If not, you should refuse the proposed increase, perhaps propose a new one, and then your landlord can ask the court for a ruling on the matter.Take the next step
