Is cleaning a gutter/downspout the responsibility of the tenant or the landlord?
Questioner
Cleaning of gutter/rainpipe for whom is this tenant or landlord because I do not understand what they mean by Regular cleaning. As far as accessible for the tenant. What is meant by accessible? I live in a family home and am a single mother. I do not see myself climbing a ladder that high to clean it. There is also no possibility to get to it via the roof because there is no opening in the roof such as a window because there is only an attic that you cannot get to there is no staircase.Lawyer
The gutter and drainpipe are accessible at the moment that you as a tenant have no significant costs to get to it and not with danger to your own life. So if you have to buy a whole ladder work then that goes up.Questioner
Sorry but I don't understand what you mean with that last sentence? So buying a whole ladder of work then that applies. Do you mean by this that it will be at the expense of the landlord? And danger to one's own life that is of course different for everyone because I as a woman who never stands on a ladder and then suddenly have to stand 2 high on a ladder I find dangerous. And of course I would have to buy a ladder for that because you can't get there with a household stepladder. Thank you for your reaction/answer RegardsLawyer
