Can an objection be lodged against a decision on the basis of incorrect information contained in that decision?

Questioner

My son received a letter from the CBR, in which his driving license has been suspended. He was reportedly arrested on December 31 while under the influence of drugs. My son was not arrested on December 31st. He was arrested on another day. Can incorrectly stating the date be a reason to appeal?

Lawyer

Dear questioner, It is not possible to oppose a suspension, but it is possible to file an objection. However, the chance of success is small. The CBR will base its measure on a police report and (can) state that the incorrect date is a typo. A suitability investigation has probably been announced. Cooperation in this is mandatory, just as paying for it yourself is mandatory. If something does not happen, the driving licence can be declared invalid. If all goes well, there will be more information about this in the letter from the CBR. Good luck with that, lawyer
