How do I give someone power of attorney to sell a house?

Questioner

I am the owner of an apartment in Italy together with my ex-husband (Italian). This apartment is now as good as sold. The transfer will take place at the end of May. Because I am not sure whether I can travel to Italy due to the corona, I am thinking of giving my Italian ex-husband a power of attorney to arrange the sale on my behalf as well. I would like to receive information on how to handle this.

I know that there are Spanish notaries working in the Netherlands, perhaps that is also the case for Italian ones, then you do not have to travel. Otherwise you have to make a statement at a Dutch notary and that statement must be apostilled (Embassy declaration of authenticity) and then the document is valid for Italian law.
