How can I waive debts from an inheritance?

Questioner

Dear people I have a question my uncle has passed away and my parents and brothers have renounced as there will probably only be debts, Now I have heard that we, the nephews and nieces, will receive a message, now I have 2 questions. 1 How can I renounce it for myself and my minor children? 2. Is there a possibility to inherit only if there is money left over?

Lawyer

1) also renounce the inheritance, also on behalf of your children, this is done via the court of the district where your uncle last lived. For your children you must request authorization plus a renunciation declaration. 2) Yes, that is possible, but then all heirs are expected to accept the inheritance under benefit of inventory; you cannot do that alone.
