What to do if you are falsely accused of indecent acts with a minor?
Questioner
My father is falsely accused of the following; My sister has a stepdaughter. She comes from an unstable family (both on her father's side, or on my sister's side and her mother's side) She has slept over at my father's a few times (not her grandfather) but went with her half-brother (my father's real grandson) to grandpa's. There she found peace and tranquility. On both the father's and mother's side there is a lot to do with drugs, violence, shouting, arguing, etc. On both sides the parents have a new partner with 2 new children each. She has a very hard time with that. Now she said that my father touched her. No one believes her but my sister does. She has now sent my father a WhatsApp message saying that he has to transfer €7500 to her account and then they look the other way and forget about it. What can we do now? There is (still) no report filed from their side. (happening on Friday)Lawyer
Annoying situation, but what your father should do at most is to let it be known that he will not pay anything and that he has done nothing. If your sister still wants to take steps, she should file a report and/or hire a lawyer so that this can be investigated and dealt with properly. If she shares this information with others, she may also be guilty of libel or slander. In short, a situation that should be kept a close eye on. I advise you to report this to the police. Furthermore, your sister can be told that your father denies that anything happened and that the demand that a reasonable amount should be paid is primarily worrying, since the daughter's well-being should be the priority here, and that this demand will not be met, since this demand is unjustified and has been reported to the police.Take the next step
