Portrait rights as a former employee in online videos
Questioner
I have not been working for my old employer for quite some time now. I have noticed that they are still using my previously recorded videos, these are company presentations, online even though I no longer work there. I would prefer that they no longer use my face for their company. Is there anything I can do about this and are they infringing on my portrait rights? As an employee I had no problem with my face being used, however, as a former employee this is different now and I do not appreciate this.Lawyer
Dear, You have the intellectual property of the videos, as you are the creator of this recording. Another may not use this to gain profits, which is the case in this matter. It is then that you will give this publicity and can claim compensation by violating the property right. If I can be of service to you with this, you may contact me directly. Hereby. I would like to inform you of this, with sincere regards, Mr. J. GroenewegenLawyer
I understand that it is not so much about films that you have made but that you 'star in'. Your former employer should have checked whether you still agreed to it. You can ask to stop. Compensation?
