Is there an acquired right?

I work in a nursing home I have been working a day shift every Monday and Tuesday for 7 years now. Now my employer wants to implement changes in the schedule Now working everything except Monday and Tuesday, a day shift. Now I'm completely in a tangle with the babysitter, etc. I can technically prove from the roster that Mon and Tue always had a day shift after 7 years. Is this then an acquired right?

Yes, there is an acquired right. The employer may adjust the employment contract: 1. the change must be reasonable and; 2. it must be reasonable for you to accept the change (Stoof/Mammoth criterion of the Supreme Court). It could very well be that in your case the change is not reasonable. In that case you do not have to accept it.
