My mother's ex-partner refuses to deregister from my residential address. He has no fixed residential address. My mother cannot apply for benefits now because he is still registered here. She called the municipality, but nothing came of that either. What can I do about this?

If your mother's ex-partner no longer lives at the home address, you can ask the municipality to conduct an address investigation. The municipality will then investigate the new address of that person and will send a letter in which they announce their intention to deregister this person. If this person responds and reports a change of address, the new address will be noted. If no response is received, this person will be deregistered. You can submit this request online (via DigiD) or by post.
