What to do in the event of death if there are still tenants (for more than 2 years) in the home?
Questioner
My mother has a house that she rents out, where the tenants recently gave notice. When choosing new tenants or possibly selling, the question arises: suppose I die (she is in good health, but a bit older), can my daughter sell the house. Or is the tenant law such that the tenants must then be 'sold along'?Lawyer
Your daughter is continuing your position and must respect tenant rights. What you can do to prevent this is to rent to a different tenant for a maximum of 2 years each time. For more insight into this problem, you may contact me directly.Take the next step
