Community gardens must go to make way for skyscrapers
Questioner
Hello, we bought an allotment house (9000 euros) two months ago and are now renting the land. Now we heard today that the municipality may want to stop renting the land as of November 2020 and the allotments will have to go for a skyscraper. Is that just 9000 euros gone? Can the municipality just do that or can we claim back some of the money we spent? I find it completely strange. You pay a fortune for those houses because there is so much need for them and they seem to disappear everywhere...Lawyer
It depends on the provisions of the lease agreement whether the municipality can terminate the lease of the land as of November 2020. However, it is not unusual for the lease for municipal land to be terminated.Take the next step
