Do we have to pay another 1800 euros for a new floor?
Questioner
10 years ago we had a PVC floor laid by a furniture store on a tiled floor. The floor was first leveled by the furniture store. Now it turns out that not enough was leveled, so that the contours of the tiles can now be seen through the PVC floor. The furniture store admits the mistake and now we can have a new floor laid with a discount. The floor cost us 4300 euros at the time and now we would have to pay another 1800 euros for a new floor. We do not agree with this because if they had leveled enough at the time, we would not have needed a new floor now. We ourselves only saw a year ago that the contours were becoming visible through the floor. But undoubtedly it was already visible earlier but we did not notice it. So my question is whether it is reasonable to pay extra or are the costs entirely for the furniture store?Lawyer
The fact is that such floors last x number of years, then asking for compensation is reasonable because you get a new floor laid for nothing (which you should have saved for yourself up to 2/3 of the remaining time?). The durability of the floor is therefore important.Take the next step
