My sister and brother-in-law want to register at my postal address

Questioner

My sister and brother-in-law want a postal address with me, they also register at my address. They are not going to live with me (they have a holiday home) No compensation is paid. I am currently receiving unemployment benefits and may later receive IOW benefits. Does this have any consequences for me? I myself am married and my wife works 32 hours. We have no allowances or other subsidies (if only ww now) we have a house we own. Can you tell me if there are any catches in such a situation? thank you in advance

Lawyer

If people register (formally live) at your home address, you need permission from the bank in advance. This is a standard condition in the loan and mortgage agreement, with the necessary consequences if you fail to do so and the bank finds out. Furthermore, building and contents insurance must also be adjusted. You could get into trouble with the UWV because they set a market-conform compensation for the use of part of your home that increases your income. It is therefore certainly advisable to draw up a well-drafted agreement for the use of part of the home in which the consideration is set at 0. For more information, you can contact me.
