What are my rights when my rental property is demolished?

Questioner

The rental home where I currently live with my son is being demolished. The extra registration period that we received (and I shared with my ex who also lived here at the time) is not enough to get a decent home. In every home I respond to, I end up between 10th and 25th place. I have to be out by September 1, but what are my rights in this? Can they just throw us out? And if they do offer me a home, do I have to accept it even if it is not to my liking?
