Make a gate in the rear fence so that you can go through the corridor behind it to the street

Behind my garden is a dead-end alley that 2 neighbours at the back already use. We would also like to make a gate at the back of the garden so that we can also use this passage. The gate is on private property and opens inwards. The neighbour at the back objects because it is “his” passage on which he already has to grant 2 other neighbours (his wording) right of way. Can I place this gate with impunity or could this cause legal problems?

You can place a gate but you cannot use the title or right of a back entrance that is owned by someone else or is jointly owned by others. You could ask the owners for a right of way for a fee.
