Extension of temporary rental contract
Questioner
We rent a private rental home. We have signed a temporary contract for 2 years. This expires on July 31, 2021. In principle, the landlord has no problem with this being converted into an indefinite term, but the real estate agent advises against this because it is unfavorable for the landlord. Legally, we have to be out of the house on July 31, but the real estate agent is still discussing this with the landlord. We have now heard that certain laws have come into effect during the corona period. The first law is that the contract can be extended by 3 months after the end date of the rental contract. Does this law still apply? And the second law that we have heard is that instead of an indefinite term contract, a temporary contract can be provided once for a maximum of 1 year. Has this law actually come into effect? Or was this a bill? Yours sincerely,Lawyer
This could be requested until November 1st, but that is no longer the case.Take the next step
