Water damage laminate
Questioner
Our newly laid laminate flooring was damaged by a hot water leak before the moving date. The Housing Association is responsible for this and has not acted adequately enough to prevent this. The housing association indicates that they are not responsible for my belongings. My home contents insurance states that they are not responsible because the claim was reported before the start of my home contents insurance. I took out the home contents insurance on 05-06-2021 because we were not moving until 07-06-2021. Unfortunately, we were unable to move on 07-06-2021 due to the work that the housing association had to do to replace the pipe.Lawyer
You must hold the housing association liable for this consequential damage; it is irrelevant that you had not yet insured the contents.Take the next step
