Additional collection costs
Questioner
I received a letter from a debt collection agency (not registered). That I still have to pay money on an energy bill dating from 2018. And if I don't pay or make an arrangement within 5 days, I will have to appear in court on the 25th of this month. Called the collection agency who indicated that they had emailed me (to the wrong email address) Called my correct number. And hereby left my voicemail that I had to pay the bill. I get so many voicemails that I don't listen to them all. And that they sent me text messages. In this time you get so many weird messages and texts that you have to pay money so uncle did not respond. Now my option is: To pay the bills plus the collection costs. Or it should be prevented. To what extent am I in my rights I wondered? I want to pay the bill but I don't quite understand the collection costs. Greetings ThijsLawyer
There is a shortened limitation period of 2 years. This applies if the supplier has not interrupted the limitation in time. I think that has happened but to an incorrect email address. You are responsible for providing a correct address.Take the next step
