Can I refuse a course?
Questioner
I have been working at a nursing home as a technical service provider for almost 31 years and have been doing the monthly tests of the fire alarm control panel all that time. And now that I am 62 years old and have been out of school for over 40 years, they want me to become a BMC course administrator. I can't see this happening anymoreLawyer
If the employer wants to retain you for the organization and demonstrates good employment practices by giving you the opportunity to improve your performance in your position through available knowledge, you cannot simply refuse this. You have a job and the employer may set certain requirements under which this must be carried out, what experience and education you need for this. Ready knowledge and wage growth/job retention usually go together. So in summary you are actually obligated to yourself to do it. Otherwise I advise you to resign and give this opportunity to another German or a motivated job seeker.Take the next step
