Neighbors object to my awning

Questioner

I have had an awning placed in the front garden of my house. I have informed my neighbours about this and they have not indicated that they do not agree with this and were aware of our plans. The situation is that a part of my front garden that we have arranged as a terrace is 1.30 metres in front of the facade of the neighbours but is my land, this situation is the same in the entire street. Now that the awning has been placed, my neighbours do not like it and object that a mounting bracket is attached to their facade and that they have not given permission for this and want me to remove the 3500 euro screen. I have indicated that I will not remove the screen and that I will take into account that if we do not use the terrace, the screen will not be left out. Initially, they agreed to this but want to reconsider. In principle, it is of course not about the attachment but about the fact that they do not like the screen. My question is whether they are within their rights to have the attachment of their facade removed so that I have to have a pole placed in the corner. The screen hangs 10 cm away from the facade in connection with the drainpipe, only the mounting bracket is attached to the facade. I would like to see your response.

Your neighbors are right that they should have been asked permission to attach the bracket, but their intolerant behavior is the opposite of that, so they demand its removal. Now this demand will not hold up in court either. Neighbors should treat each other fairly and absolutely insisting on your rights is not always important. (as is the case now).
