How or what can I do to get out of a contract?
Questioner
We found a company for solar panels via the internet. This company came by for an exploratory meeting. This took place last Thursday, October 14th. After this conversation we stupidly signed a contract for the solar panels. Now we only hear negative stories and we really paid too much for the product. Our question is can we still terminate this contact?... Yours sincerelyLawyer
It depends on the exact situation. Since I don't know the exact situation I can only give a general picture here. If the solar panels were purchased as a consumer (and not as a company), there may be a 14-day reflection period. A consumer almost always has a cooling-off period of 14 days if the products were purchased via the internet, by telephone or door-to-door (for a value of more than 50 euros). The purchase agreement can then be dissolved. This may be different if, for example, a product is custom made or a product is purchased in a store. As a consumer, you do not have to wait until a product has been delivered to use the cooling-off period. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or would like me to look into the matter further.Take the next step
