Employer does not pay wages: am I entitled to the statutory increase and interest?
Questioner
I have verbally agreed with my ex-employer to leave employment immediately. That was around 18/9. Also on the email between my employer and me it states that I will leave employment on that date but will receive the entire month plus holiday pay. To date I have not received anything, after several times insisting that I expect the money.Lawyer
If there is a question of outstanding wages, you can claim the statutory increase and statutory interest. You must first summon the employer to pay these amounts to you within a reasonable period. If payment is not made, these amounts can be claimed in a procedure. If there is a sufficiently long arrears, the statutory increase is a maximum of 50%Take the next step
