My friend wants to register with me
Questioner
My boyfriend wants to register with me and live with me. I want to know how much I will be worse off financially, will he become my allowance partner? I have 2 children under 18. I will probably lose my child-related budget. I do want to live together but I don't want to have anything to do with him financially.Lawyer
It is good that you are looking into the situation because if you live together, this can quickly have consequences for your financial situation. In this case, your friend will almost certainly be seen as your allowance partner. You can answer a number of questions on the tax authorities' website (or via Google if you search for 'do I have an allowance partner?') based on your situation. The last question is: 'Do you or one of your co-residents have a resident child who is younger than 18?' If the answer to this question is 'Yes', the result will state that there is a supplementary partner. How exactly your situation would change depends on the income and benefits you currently receive (both if applicable).Take the next step
