I want to cancel a contract, how do I do that?

Questioner

My question concerns a situation with a company I signed a contract with, the company is based in Cyprus and I live in the Netherlands of course. The company/agency specializes in personal advice and the contract I signed with them is in accordance with European laws. I wanted to cancel the contract but they said I have to pay some kind of fine for it and that it can go up to 5000 euros if I don't pay the fine/compensation, namely 950 euros for breaking the contract with them, since I streamed/watched 20% of the content on their website. They claimed they would contact the debt collection agencies to get it from me. FYI, I requested the cancellation an hour after I signed the contract with them via Zoom and a special website for signing contracts. My question now is, can you help me to terminate/cancel/end the contract without extra costs and what are the costs for that? I am just a student and this is something that has never happened to me before. Let me know if you can help me, I really need help now. Thanks in advance!

The consumer client can always terminate the contract of assignment on condition that the latter pays the costs incurred plus a portion of the profit under Dutch law. Savings on the side of the service provider must also be included.
