Report a hidden defect in your home?
Questioner
We are planning to sell our home. We know that we have a duty to report, including (hidden) defects. But we are left with the following issue, and we are wondering whether we should also report this, or whether we could have problems later if we had not reported it. - Our neighbor works as a guard in a high-security facility. Due to threats from the criminal world where his name has been mentioned, the neighbors are currently in hiding. - Their house has now been fitted with various security measures and is being monitored more closely. - We have not received any official information about this from anyone and we have not been officially informed or informed by anyone or by any agency. All we know is a combination of things we have heard through the grapevine and from news reports and such. - Although it felt a bit tense at first, we haven't had any inconvenience at all. It's just as quiet in the neighborhood as it has always been before. There's no sign of any extra control. On the internet I can find all sorts of things about reporting defects or, for example, neighbour disputes, when it comes to reporting obligations. But as I said, we don't have any inconvenience from it. So we wonder whether something specific like this should also be reported or whether it could cause problems afterwards. Yours sincerely,Lawyer
You must state all facts that influence the buyer's course of action, if not it would not be a defect, then usually in the last question whether you have any general or specific comments that may be important for the buyer's judgment.Take the next step
