Defects in bathroom installation
Questioner
In December a bathroom was installed and on January 7th the ceiling went in. When I went to clean my bathroom thoroughly for the first time 2 weeks later I noticed that there were scratches on 3 tiles from top to bottom. At first they said that this was part of the structure of the tiles but they sent someone with a tile eraser. But you can't erase scratches. Then I was told that they couldn't do anything about it because I had only reported this after the bathroom had been delivered according to them, the scratches were reported, I had said that I hadn't noticed it before because a new bathroom isn't cleaned that thoroughly in the first few weeks. I would like to hear from you what I can do about this, it can't be the case that if you spend a total of 18,000 euros on a bathroom that you have to accept that there are scratches in my tiles. I have shown the photos of the tiles to several people and everyone agrees that these are indeed scratches that don't belong in the tile.Lawyer
It is very easy to say that you would be too late. As you yourself indicate, this can sometimes take a little longer. And two weeks is almost always fast enough. Because someone was sent along, it seems that they do acknowledge that the damage may have been caused by work. Were the tiles newly placed? Or is the damage to tiles you already had? In both cases, the entrepreneur will (usually) be liable and must repair the damage. Whether this is by placing new tiles or another form of compensation. It is best to request repair in writing and indicate that you have complained within a reasonable time (complaint obligation). In these cases it can often help to call in a lawyer. A letter from a lawyer often has a deterrent effect. You can contact me through my profile if you have any questions or to discuss the matter without obligation.Take the next step
