How many days in a row can I work?
Questioner
I have received a new schedule from my work. Here I see that I have to work 10 days in a row, is this allowed? I work at a Plus supermarket branch.Lawyer
This also depends on how long the shifts are. It is all very technical, but it is certainly not common to work so many days in a row (and in principle this is not allowed). The starting point for the collective labour agreement for the food industry is a five-day working week (see article 3 of the collective labour agreement, via the link below). https://www.fnv.nl/cao-sector/handel/supermarkets/cao-supermarkt-levenmiddelsbedrijf You can refer the employer to the collective labor agreement. Normally, after a working day, you are entitled to 11 hours of rest. And after a working week, a period of 36 hours off. Under certain circumstances you may work more than 5 days in a row, but you must have at least 3 full days off in a row (or 2 x 32 hours) within a period of 14 days.
