Ending training as a driving instructor

Questioner

Last March I signed up for the driving instructor training. With great difficulty I passed the aptitude test, in May the theory lessons started and I experienced them all via zoom. I took the theory part exam twice, but failed. After much deliberation I decided not to continue. I informed the Academy of this, I had paid everything in advance, so I still expect my money back for 5x2 hours of driving lessons that I did not enjoy. According to the Academy I am not entitled to a refund. I read otherwise in the general terms and conditions. Agreement: 2. Interim termination of the agreement is only possible by notice by registered letter to Academy. Interim termination never releases the student from the obligation to pay the total amount of the training to be met. Am I entitled to a refund for the portion I have not used?

In principle not if the trainer cannot reschedule your hours if there are limited places. They would lose that bit of profit if they had to pay it back. The obligation to pay for untaken course parts is therefore often linked to the possibility of offering the unoffered course to another student.
