Dormer window and permission from neighbors

Questioner

I have placed a dormer window on my house less than 2 meters from the property line. We are aware that this distance is smaller than the law prescribes. At the time, we received permission for this from our old neighbor. In addition, the view from this dormer window is a sloping roof of a shed belonging to the neighbor in question. Now it is so that the old neighbor is no longer there and someone else has come to live there. These people want to demolish the shed to make a back garden there. So now we are looking into someone else's garden without wanting to. (we also like to give someone else their privacy). In addition, they also want to build a dormer window that will also look directly into our backyard. The distance from their dormer window to the property boundary will fluctuate around 2 meters. All dormers are placed on the first floor. I would like to have a conversation with the neighbors soon, but are there any points I can still refer to? Thank you in advance for your time and response.

Lawyer

Your dormer window has, as I understand it, a window that looks out onto the neighbours' property, and that within two metres. The fact that your old neighbour gave permission for this may be relevant if we know what his intention was. However, I assume that the permission is personal and not business related. This means that your new neighbour can order you to make the window opaque. For more information or some legal assistance, please contact me via info@rechtinjestad.nl?
