Hotel stays cancelled due to hotel takeover

My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on 16-06-2020. We arranged reservations for our guests who wanted them at the hotel next to our wedding location in 's-Heerenberg. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we had to postpone our wedding twice and therefore also our hotel reservations. Since March 16th was 3 months before our wedding, we threw out 'save the dates' once again. This resulted in a number of reservations being cancelled and a number of reservations being added. When we reported this to the hotel, the employee we spoke to told us that there were no reservations at all. That's why we passed on the schedule (which we fortunately keep up to date with) and it should be fine. Now the day before yesterday we received an email that the hotel has been sold and that the reservations will not be transferred to the next owner, as he wants to place refugees in the building... Long question short: What are our rights in this matter? We have heard stories like 'the hotel we booked with should arrange an alternative for us for the same price etc. But we still want to be sure. We still have some email correspondence in black and white, but most of it has been verbal, live or over the phone. A deposit was not made because it involved a large group of reservations.Lawyer
An agreement can also be concluded verbally; it is not mandatory to have everything in writing. Any conditions are important. For example, has the hotel referred to general conditions or similar documents? The fact that the hotel indicates that the reservations are not included seems to confirm to some extent that they also believe that the reservations were agreed upon.
