Can my employer simply reduce my vacation days?

Questioner

My employer has cut my vacation days because I did not take three days on time.

Lawyer

Statutory vacation days expire 6 months after the year in which they were accrued. Extra-statutory vacation days expire after 5 years. The employer is obliged to give the employee the opportunity to take vacation days each year. He is also obliged in principle to warn that vacation days are about to expire so that the employee can still take vacation. If an employee has not had the opportunity to reasonably take vacation and/or has not been warned about the expiry of this vacation, you may still be entitled to those days.
