Can I enforce compulsory care?
Questioner
My father tried to kill my mother a while ago and is also a serious threat to me and my brothers at the moment. At first glance, this has to do with a long-standing family conflict, which is a bit too complex to elaborate on in this question. However, outside of this conflict, I have mainly noticed that my father has started to show very different behavior. I have suspected for some time that my father suffers from a mental illness, but I have never been able to put my finger on it. My father has always been a special yet sweet and caring man in the past and especially in the last few years he has changed into an unpredictable and ruthless person whose mood can change at any moment. I would very much like to see this man psychologically examined, but I don't think he would ever cooperate. I also fear that even if I had sufficient evidence, it would be quite a feat. However, I would like to make an attempt and know what is needed for this, and whether such a judicial authorization is feasible with the evidence, testimonies and indications that I have. and whether something like this can be done in a short time, or whether it will be a very long and expensive storyLawyer
You cannot force your father to be examined for mental disorder. If this disorder poses a danger to other people, I advise you to contact the police. They can assess the seriousness of the situation and take measures in the interest of public order and safety.Take the next step
