Am I entitled to urgency?

Questioner

I am 20 years old and currently live under a temporary lease that will expire soon. I live in Beverwijk and so do my parents. I left home 3 years ago, because my father had a life-threatening accident and was admitted to the hospital and afterwards to a rehabilitation center and because my mother was admitted to a psychiatric institution. Now things are going a little better with my parents, but I have to live near them. Not only in case they need me, but also in case a dangerous situation threatens to arise. This could happen as a result of things I experienced in my youth that I do not want to talk about so openly in this message, but if someone wants to help me with applying for urgency if I am entitled to it, I will of course explain the whole story and the reason why I have to live close by will become clearer.

Lawyer

Good afternoon, the application is something you can do yourself. Sometimes it is with the municipality and sometimes with the housing association itself. It is best to call your municipality/housing association about this. Each municipality has its own policy (housing regulation) in conjunction with the housing law on the basis of which your application will be assessed. It is possible that you may be eligible on the basis of the urgency grounds; informal care. If your application is rejected, you could contact the office. We can assist you in a possible objection procedure.
