Is it allowed to verbally indicate no contract extension?

Questioner

I have a 1 year contract. 3 weeks ago he said that everyone would prefer to stay in service for 2 years (for the group of children) now he has said not to extend my contract. The entire team is against it, and he also lies for the sake of it and he asks me to email it to my team myself (while he already said it in a meeting and puts me and the team in a bad position). Now my colleagues have said that they find it terrible, also his lies. I have not yet received a written notice. I am working normally and next month too I think. I work in a residential group for children, I also have to tell the children. My contract runs until August 1. I still have 90 hours of vacation. and I will be 66 years old in September. I work at a COMPANY, a private care company. On June 10 he surprised me by telling me this and I just had to work my shifts afterwards. I'm devastated.. my colleagues with a one year contract are also scared, and the reason he gives is a big lie.. is this allowed.

If your temporary employment contract does not state that it must be terminated, it will automatically expire on the end date. However, the employer is legally obliged to communicate in writing at least one month before the end of the employment contract whether the employment contract will be extended after the end of the employment contract. If this does not happen, and verbal communication is therefore not sufficient, you can claim a 'notice compensation' of up to one month's salary within 2 months after the end date of the employment contract. This must be done via the court. If no claim is made via the court within 2 months, the notice compensation will lapse. You will then forfeit it.
